It can feel overwhelming to get it right, feel comfortable in the area and hopefully deliver something that engages others. 💆‍♀️ Anyway, it’s also been interesting to reflect on how these talks and new contacts came about.... Before Christmas I’d agreed to do a talk on STEM / STEAM careers and on my specialist sustainable design area. Preparing the talk I began to doubt myself, to be unsure if it and If i would deliver something good enough. It coincided with a low day, my period pain and I found myself deeply tired and in tears before.... BUT I still got on my bike, cycled up the hill in the dark, rushed to find the room and face a full packed audience. Breathing in and smiling ( it’s amazing how that can change your mood) I began to share stories and my passion from the heart 💚 It went well. What is well? For me it’s when a young girl comes up to me, visibly excited, a bit emotional and says “ that was all so inspiring, it’s amazing what we can do, the choices we can make to create a positive impact on the world” . This, this is what it’s about, creating the awareness, passion and realise that we have the power and choice everyday to create our own kind of positive impact. This comes with lows & highs, curl up in ball days before go and face the world days. 💪 In that audience there also happened to be business directors, university professors and school leaders. All of which have reached out, recommended and passed on my name. 🙏🏼 So when you have a chance, a moment to share your passion, take it and just let your self shine through - it will show and you never know what good stuff it may bring to you, others and the planet 🌎 . . . . #sustainabledesign #ecodesign #ecodesigner #circulardesign #bookshelf #ecobook #humannature #beyourself #endometriosisawareness #authenticself Friday + snow day vibes..... Positive Purpose driven people & organisations are great, but it can often mean that it’s hard to switch off, a head full of ideas, plans, good stuff to do...... 🌎 Make sure you take time to rest & recharge. I mean courtesy please, particularly to small businesses... Putting new ones together Signing off on some designs for print Plotting new proposals...
