As a volunteer Director for Reading Hydro Community Benefit Society – I was part of the core team bringing renewable Hydro energy to the river Thames at Reading.
I supported through community, awareness building and communication strategy and delivery. Building open communication and collaboration around the project to attract, skills, members, wider support and the initial Pioneer Shares Crowdfunding investment. Developing their brand, social media and online and in person presence. Alongside this organising on the ground schools and community education opportunities. As well as this the design and print of various marketing materials.c
This led to increased community engagement, the recruitment of key skills and raising over £16,000 on crowdfunder for the initial detailed design stages.
I still remain as an active volunteer, however have stepped down from intensive support due to other commitments. They’re on the look out for a super PR and communications volunteer who can help develop and execute their next share round!
